“The world could not have a trouble so large that a sensible woman could not fix it in an afternoon”.
(from “The Madwoman of Chaillot”).
The Sisters of the Brush (yes, that’s right—the SOB’s!) is a group of women artists who meet regularly to critique each others’ works, organize our group’s art shows, and, above all, support each other in our artistic endeavors.
We have not fixed the world’s troubles, but we consistently strive to fix artistic troubles. The troubles of subject matter, composition, choice of medium, color, and technique are those we tackle whenever we sit down individually to create, and when we gather monthly as a group. The Sisters have diverse tastes and talents, but we share the female perspective in approaching our artwork.
Our group is “all girls”, but we certainly invite everyone to view our show. See how the Sisters have tackled the troubles of the artistic process. Each in our own way, but all from women who have experienced much in art and life.
And we also seek out opportunities to show our work together - and have succeeded more than a few times:
